Ventouxman
Defy the myth!

Since 2016, the triathlon of the giant of Provence has delighted fans of mountain triathlons. The Vassouxman is first and foremost a cycling route taking place in an exceptional setting, through the vineyards and typical villages of Vaucluse, with the mythical Mont Ventoux halfway through, the world cycling summit, climbed from Bédoin, its most difficult and most famous face.

In 10 editions, the event has crowned some of the best French and foreign triathletes, such as Marcel Zamora, William Mennesson, Thomas Huwiler, Carrie Lester or Jeanne Collonge... but also showcased young retirees from the cycling peloton such as Anthony Roux, Emma Pooley and Lilian Calmejane.

Since 2024, the VentuxMan has been welcoming you to the site of the lake and the city of Monteux, 30 km south of Mont Ventoux.

Long distance triathlon and Duathlon, S format triathlon, S format triathlon, Gravel M... the VentuxMan offers formats for everyone.

KEY DATES

2015
The Ventuxman Triathlon was created on an idea by Charles Doussot and Jean-François Ribet, offering for the first time a long distance triathlon including the ascent of Mont Ventoux.
Starting from Lake Piolenc, the Ventuxman has since the beginning offered an ascent by Bédoin, the most mythical, as well as a trail running part at altitude around the Mont Serein station.
600 triathletes are at the start of this first edition, run under scorching heat in June and won by the French Benoît Bigot in the men's category and Maïté Lecouty in the women's category.
2016
The 2016 edition is full with a thousand triathletes involved, including the multiple winner of the Embrunman and Ironman France, the Spanish Marcel Zamora.
But this edition was canceled by prefectural decision due to stormy weather and degraded conditions on Mont Ventoux.
This cancellation, which reduces a year of work to nothing, undermines the morale of organizers and volunteers and plunges the organization into significant financial difficulties.
2017
The organizers decided to bounce back and proposed a 3rd edition, having taken care to plan a fallback route, in case the weather prevented the ascent of Ventoux again.
This edition was a success, with 1,000 athletes at the start, and marked an internationalization with the victory of the British Emma Pooley (winner of the Women's Tour and ex-world time trial champion) and the Spanish Erik Merinos.
2019
Major changes in the organization: the VentuxMan passes in September (after a survey of participants), now starts from Lake Lapalud and is driven by the company Extra Sports and Tom Pagani, a triathlete who participated in the creation of the Alpsman.
This edition, which brings together more than 1,000 competitors from 24 different nationalities, was won by the French William Mennesson, the recent winner of the Embrunman, and the Australian Carrie Lester, victorious in 2018, retained her title in front of the French women Jeanne Collonge and Charlotte Morel.
2020
Storms break out at the start. Under terrible conditions, the race still took place but with a swimming cancelled, a cycling part reduced to 70 km with an ascent to Mont Serein via Malaucène and a running race reduced to 15 km.
2023
The Ventuxman is taking a break in order to redefine its offer. The online format of the event makes the logistics too complex for athletes and organizers.
2024
The VentuxMan is finding a new lease of life in Monteux (84) and now offers a looped route starting from Lake Monteux, always with an ascent of Ventoux by Bédoin.
The ex-professional cyclist Anthony Roux is winning on this new course, as is the British Caroline Livesey in the women's category.
2025
For its 10th edition, the VentuxMan welcomes more than 1000 athletes and innovates by offering an S format, a Duathlon L and a Gravel Triathlon. This anniversary edition also hosts the finals of the French D3 Triathlon and Duathlon championships.

RESULTS

COMMITMENTS

Faithful to the memory of this Mount Olympus of world cycling, the Vassouxman intends to perpetuate the myth through the one and only Triathlon crossing Mont Ventoux and the development of an exceptional Provençal territory with its vineyards, its lavender fields, its typical and picturesque villages... The Vassouxman wishes to participate in the development of the practice of chained sports by addressing everyone: duathletes, novices, children, fans of Gravel and Trail... in a friendly and festive setting.

An exemplary eco-event

We are fully aware of giving you access to an exceptional playground in the heart of a preserved natural ecosystem. Our organization must therefore take care to impact as little as possible the sensitive natural areas in which we operate (removable and reusable directional signage, cleaning of paths and refueling sites, etc.). We prefer short circuits for all our supplies: medals, textiles, trophies and welcome gifts made in France, supplies
